The Importance of Being Earnest

1)    What is this work’s theme or main point?  Provide evidence from the text to support this claim.
2)    What does this work communicate to you? Why?
The purpose of the reading response is to explain your personal analysis of and reaction to the reading, not to summarize the work or explain what others have said about it.  To that end, avoid online summaries and study guides.
When quoting your textbook, use MLA-style in-text citations and provide a Works Cited entry.  Organize your ideas into paragraphs, and proofread carefully for grammar and spelling.
