However, many others have warned that emotions are dangerous in certain environments or that emotions have no place in school or work. Some have extolled the sharing of emotion for its transformative power.

Compose a 3-page essay in which you analyze the following:

1) what your past has taught you about the role of emotions (many writers find success in remembering a specific concrete setting or memory where they can analyze how their past has taught them)

2) what you think about emotions as energy and not inherently positive or negative

3) how scholars and writers have argued emotion should be explored or used

4) where you sense disagreement with the scholars and other writers and why or how you disagree
