folol1I am trying to tune up my proof writing skills for my discrete math by practicing some problems, and I'm not having too much luck. I have a test coming up on this soon, and my book and professor are not too good at explaining it. The problem I am working on is as follows:
Consider the proposition If n is even then n^2 + n is even.
(a) Prove it.
(b) State the converse.
(c) If the converse is true, prove it; if it is false, give a counterexample.
Can someone please show me how to write a proper proof and converse for this and show me how this problem would be worked. I'd greatly appreciate the help. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to answer.
