Your boss "ran the numbers" on throughput and found that he was "lean" since he was producing to the schedule and at least 90% of the bottleneck rate (production capacity). However, his average WIP causes his leadtime to be 60 days and that is causing the company to lose customers to competitors that can deliver more quickly. Is the company lean? Why or why not?
