Select one (1) task and provide a one (1) sentence demonstration explaining how you would take the chosen task through Gagne-Briggs’ Nine Events.

  • Based on the scenario, prepare a brief training cost analysis for a training program of your choice, including estimated time requirements for each task and relating those time requirements to the overall cost you have identified for the project. Then, briefly describe your strategy for implementation.

COST ANALYSIS EXAMPLE:

Development Costs

Trainer (10 days / $2000); HRD (3 days / $1080); Materials (20 manuals / $425)

Implementation Costs

Facility and Equipment (2 days / $300); Trainer (2 days / $400); Refreshments (2 days / $400)

Participation Costs

20 employees (2 days / est. $6500)

Follow-Up and Evaluation Costs

Trainer (5 days / $1000)

Total Budget

$12,105

As the HRD and with a clear objective, my strategy is to have a 2-day program developed and delivered by an outsourced expert trainer.  Part of the development process will include assessing the pool of participants and considering the best approach to engage and reach that audience.  Following the actual training, I expect the trainer to continue with Gagne's model to gain feedback on the experience and knowledge gained.  Upon completion of the workshop, I will work with the trainer to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and to determine next steps (revisit training design, follow-up with participants on a 1:1 basis, ensure timely and practical application of material, etc.)
