Write a paper of approximately 1,500 words that includes the following components:

The final assessment will require you to integrate and apply the knowledge gained from the various activities, discussions, and research you performed during the course. Please choose one of the following options for your paper, answering all of the questions required for each. For both options:

Format your paper using West Writing Style Handbook  guidelines.

Include a minimum of two sources, which may consist of readings from the University Library, your text, and other selections.

 

Option 1: Select an HR representative and interview him or her.

  • Provide a brief biography of the person, the company, and their experience in HR. Include a copy of the company’s mission and vision.
  • Describe in detail HR-related issues or dilemmas that the company is experiencing such as turnover, absenteeism, motivation, morale, recruiting, etc.
  • Address the problem from the perspective of an HR manager and provide a suggested solution using any of the concepts presented throughout this course. Examples could include using a job analysis, creating policies, changing recruitment practices, creating a safety program, Affirmative Action, incorporating an HRIS, etc. Remember, the idea is to create a viable solution to the HR problem.
  • Explain the connection between your solution to the company’s mission and vision. 

 

Option 2: Select a company to research in the area of HR.

  • Provide a brief overview of the company and its HR department. Include a copy of the company’s mission and vision.
  • Describe in detail HR-related issues or dilemmas that the company is experiencing such as turnover, absenteeism, motivation, morale, recruiting, etc.
  • Address the problem from the perspective of an HR manager and provide a suggested solution using any of the concepts presented throughout this course. Examples could include using a job analysis, creating policies, changing recruitment practices, incorporating an HRIS, etc. Remember, the idea is to create a viable solution to the HR problem.
  • Explain the connection between your solution to the company’s mission and vision.
