The three core process model is important to organizations because it emphasizes the importance of management competency along with promoting alignment of all organizational activities. A core process model in health care is different than other organizations because of the patient piece.  The three core process model in health care consists of:

• Clinical/medical/technical processes-  These processes are critical because they are the main reason why clients and patients seek health care assistance that stems from diagnosis or care. 
• Operational and patient flow processes- These processes help enable patients and clients to gain access.  Processes such as scheduling, registering, and coordination of care.   
• Administrative processes- Helps improves processes through administrative tasks.  Streamlining processes helps organizations to become more efficient (Kelly, 2011).
