This is a 4-5 paragraph (600-800 word) Essay Assignment in which you will structure an essay as an argument using your own experience and observations as evidence; give yourself enough time to thoroughly complete the Writing Process.

Prewrite: Think of some things that you have gone to a store or ordered online and purchased new.  Do some prewriting (review 1 in RFW).  Look at the packaging and/or the ingredients. DO NOT, under any circumstances, seek information or advice or knowledge from the internet. Consider the handout “potential criteria” to help evaluate. Your body paragraphs will be based on criteria, not description!

Please Note: If you feel stumped because you feel like you get everything secondhand, consider what you go to the store to buy. This can be as simply as a toiletry or as complex as an appliance.
