HOSP335 Final Project (Leadership presentation)

You will be presenting on a leader in the hospitality industry that inspires you and has influenced your leadership style.  You may select anyone from any segment of the hospitality industry, but remember that you must include a minimum of three legitimate resources, so keep that in mind when you are choosing the subject of your paper.  Assume that the audience is your peers, and you are presenting this in a classroom setting.

Your presentation should include fully researched and developed information about this person to include the following information:

• Name and position held
• Background biographical information about the leader
• Path they followed to their current position
• Conflicts or challenges they met along the way
• Biggest challenge of their leadership
• Their vision for their company
• Why you are inspired by them 
• How they have or will influence your leadership style

You will not be presenting “in front” of a group of people, but you will be creating and submitting a recorded presentation.  The presentation will be created in PowerPoint, Prezi or a different presentation platform, and you will be narrating and recording the presentation as if you are presenting it to a group of people.  This will be done by recording your own voice as you move through the slides, this should not be done by using a text to speech application, in which a computer generated voice reads your words out loud.

Attached to this assignment are several different presentation resources that you can use for this assignment if you do not have access to PowerPoint, which is the preferred media for this project. 

Your presentation will be comprised of at least 7 slides:  a minimum of 5 content slides, plus a title page and a reference page.  The reference page should have a minimum of 3 academic resources, listed in proper APA format.  You will also submit a written “script” or the narration recorded for the presentation, which does not have to be in APA format, but should follow correct grammar and syntax.

Remember that you must include a title slide, reference slide and a minimum of 5 content slides, you may use more if you wish, but no less.

This project will assess your ability to research, prepare and communicate an organized presentation.  Additionally, it will serve to assess your understanding of a leader in the industry, and your ability to prepare and present a professional presentation.  Effective design and use of the technology is also a part of your grade.  All of the above are important professional skills in our industry.
