History Essay
Paul atwood's book, war and empire. presents a critical interpretation of american history challenging many of the foundational myths of american culture and society. In chapter 9 (P. 163-164) and chapter 11 (P.224-228) Atwood introduces an idea that Middle Eastern oil supplies played a significant role in the shaping of American policy in the post-1945 years. Discuss Atwood's thesis with the three documentaries watched in class (Michael T. Klare's, Blood and Oil; Norman Soloman's, War Made Easy; and Adolfo Doring's, Blind Spot).
