20 mins presentation with PPT and notes.
Need to target specific audience
In preparing your presentation you should review and incorporate all relevant information that we’ve covered in the course. In addition, you should expand on the most pertinent topics to your target audience by doing additional research beyond what has been presented in the course.
You should focus on material that is relevant to your target audience within the next ten to fifteen years. For instance, if you’re presenting to a group of university students, estate planning is probably not terribly important.
You will present to the instructor, a guest marker and the remaining students in the class
Each presentation should be 20 minutes long, with 5 additional minutes at the end for
questions
I will be assigning extra participation marks for this class to encourage students to ask the
presenting groups questions
You should approach your audience as if they are a group of individuals related by one
common theme. For instance, if you are presenting to a group of new parents, you should present general information relevant to the groups and do not assume specific information concerning a single couple (for instance, don’t assume a salary for your target audience, geographic location, etc.)
You shouldn’t make firm recommendations in your presentation. Remember, the vast majority of financial decisions are individual/family specific. So rather than making firm recommendations, you should focus on presenting alternatives to the group, focusing on the benefits and drawbacks of each, and present possible recommendations.
