Assignment on Putting the Web to work at Home or your place of work
The Web and email are components of the internet. They are the most visible, and arguable the most important parts of the internet.
1) Name 5 devices where you can use the Web (HINT - Smartphone, Laptop). Name when you would use each, such as at home, internet cafe, travelling, etc. and why.
2) Discuss 5 reasons why the web is so important to you personally. Do you shop on the internet (Ebay, Amazon, etc.). Do you use the Web to research homework or communicate with your friends using social media?
3) Describe social media and how it impacts your life. If you do not use social media, replace this with how you communicate with your friends and family (letters, emails, etc.)
4) Describe the protection measures you use to keep your computers safe. Antivirus? Firewall? Malware Blockers? Combination?
5) What is the difference between an email client and web-based email (this will take a bit of research). A good place to start:

Rubric:
20 points for content. How much research did you do and how well you presented the topic. Was the material you presented relevant and interesting? Again, use your imagination and be creative!
10 points for 400 words. 10 point deduction for less than 400 words and 10 points for every 10 words less than 400 words. As an example, 399 words is a ten point reduction. 289 words is a 20 point reduction, decreasing by 10 points to zero.
5 points for spelling and grammar checking.
