Write a paper of approximately 500–750 words in which you: 

• Describe the philosophies of the two major political parties in the United States (i.e. Republican and Democrat).
  • Which American values does each include?
  • Which American values are excluded from both parties? 

• Consider how a third major political party (example: Green Party or Libertarian Party)  may affect the political landscape, the economy, and the effectiveness of the government.
  • Describe the likely ideology of the third party.
  • Explain which characteristics a good leader of this party would have. 

• Format your paper using West Writing Style Handbook  guidelines.
• Include a minimum of three sources, which may consist of readings from the University Library, your text, and other selections.
