Formative and Summative Assessment

Assessment is a key component of any course of instruction. There are two kinds of assessments—formative and summative.

In this assignment, you will discuss whether the instruction delivered is correctly aligned with the given assessment on the basis of the video.

    Comment on the assessment that the instructor chose at the end of the video. What kind of assessment (formative or summative) is it?

    Comment on the appropriateness of the alignment of the instruction delivered and assigned assessment task. Explain your answer.

    Discuss what you would do differently, in terms of instruction and assessment, if you were the instructor of the course. Support your answer with evidence from scholarly readings.
