In the textbook, Hidden Evidence, read "The Trail of the Ripper..." and "The Diary of Jack the Ripper."

1.   How do you feel that this case impacted the field of death investigation?

2.   What differences do you see in the techniques employed in the year 1888 and present day death investigation?

3.   In your opinion, if the Ripper were active today, would modern death investigation techniques, modern forensics, and medicolegal advancements of recent years have resulted in his arrest and conviction?
