follow the instruction and write the essay

Choose a topic which fits into the chronological framework of this course.  You may choose a topic we have covered in class or you can find something that we weren’t able to get around to.  Read a full primary source (e.g. Herodotus, The Egyptian Book of the Dead, etc.) and then talk about the following: 1) How is this source a product of its time? 2) What stance does the text take on a particular issue or what is one of the main ideas that the text is trying to advance? 3) Consider how this text help us understand the values of the person and society which produced it.  These papers should be about 4-6 pages in length and will be due on the last day of class, June 2. Further instructions will be provided separately.
