Please select a significant incident that has occurred within the fire service in the last 10 years to complete the project, answering the following questions in a well-organized and researched four- to six-page paper related to the concepts in this course. Your paper must contain at least three Internet sources in addition to professional journal articles or resources related to the profession of the fire service. In addition, follow these guidelines:
 
 Assess the incident that you selected, what specific changes have occurred to the functions and responsibilities of incident command. Please explain how these changes were communicated in the form of expectations to those personnel serving as incident commanders. Include any specific standard operating procedures and their relevance to this course that were developed specifically as a result of the outcome or recommendations from this incident.  Explain how the knowledge of these failures has impacted changes in the way in which individuals are prepared for the position and functions of incident command.  Analyze and describe the incident and the impact the incident command had on the outcome of the incident. Could this incident have been avoided? What is being done specifically in your department to ensure that a similar incident and outcome does not occur?  Identify the changes this incident and your department has had on the service delivery in your community. Please address areas of prevention: education, engineering, and enforcement, including fire codes and fire protection systems.  Describe the relation between the concepts from this course and the incident as well as the ramifications they have had on your department.
 
Students are required to submit this assignment using the APA style format, double-spaced with one-inch margins (top, bottom, and sides). The project must be submitted in 12 pt. Times New Roman, following proper APA guidelines
