How does knowing the basics of film editing improve your understanding of this week's films?  Include at least three concepts of editing (graphic matching, time compression/expansion, spatial, pattern/rhythm) presented this week, and use specific scenes to illustrate how they where utilized.  Go beyond observation, discuss how this reinforces Director style or motif, and and how it contributes to an overall theme. When crafting your response,  try not to duplicate any scene mentioned by another student in regard to the same concept. There are plenty of scenes and techniques to go around, so there is no point in bunching up on one or two.
