There is growing evidence that dietary fiber can help prevent many diseases, from high blood pressure to heart disease, and possibly even cancer. For this week's assignment, you will be reading through some of the research that discusses fiber’s role in preventing these diseases.

Assignment Instructions:

1. Using the KU Library to do your research, find one (1) article from a peer-reviewed journal that supports the notion that fiber helps to prevent disease.

2. Present the scientific evidence that fiber helps to prevent disease utilizing the template found in doc sharing, which should include detailed information from the readings to support your responses.

3. You may not use a search engine such as Google or Wikipedia.

4. You will be graded on your ability to summarize the information as well as your ability to defend your responses with empirically based data.

5. Your response should be no less than 500 words (not including the 140 words in the summary template).
