Research one of the following events:

Option 2: Terrorist event

Imagine you are a local emergency management director that lives in a county with a small population and a small tax base. The selected event (either natural or terrorist) has just occurred in your county.

Write a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper in which you describe how you would leverage your limited resources to respond to the event.

Include the following:

• How you will get help from the state after your initial response
• The local and state agencies and their respective roles associated with the event
• The coordination strategies to effectively respond to the incident with other agencies and resources
• Appropriate critical incident response according to the guidelines of NIMS compliance at the local and state levels
• Interagency communication with local, state, and federal agencies
