Write a 1-2 page essay for each topic below. You will also need to provide a cover page and reference page for each essay.

1. The term "terrorism" has many definitions, and even official definitions of the term differ. Describe in detail why definitions vary yet have great importance and significance in how we view terrorism. Use several examples of the definitions from the book, and analyze them.

2. Discuss the complex relationship between terrorist organizations and the raising of, transfer of, and use of funds. Use examples.

3. Explain three or more historical perspectives of terrorism. Terrorism has sometimes been interpreted as a way of fighting between those in power and those seeking power. How have ideas and perspectives on terrorism changed over time? What is the importance of symbolism to the terrorists, whose motivation is often political, social, or religious in nature? Provide examples to support your explanations.

Record the methods you used to discover these sources. For example, which electronic libraries/databases did you search? Discuss the quality of the search results.
