TASK:
Write an essay in two parts, describing both :
a) a ‘peak’ experience of your own, or one you have ‘heard about’ from somebody else;
and
b) what has happened to that experience in the process of writing it down. In other words, discuss the transition from the primary ‘experience’ to its literate ‘expression.’
You will be expected to draw on readings and the text book which is
Ong, W., Orality & Literacy.      Chaps 1,2,3,4.
The marker will be looking at Originality, creative response to the topic; critical engagement with the texts and themes of the course. A coherent, well-structured argument, good documentation and concise, effective use of the language.
1500 words. About 2 pages for part A and 4 pages for part B.
