Total population, Gross Domestic Product and official exchange rate (2013) ofOPEC members in the Middle East region

Organization of the petroleum exporting countries is an international organization whose aim is to make uniform all petroleum policies around the world, for the benefit of its member states. It ensures regular supply of petroleum and the six member countries included in the Middle East region include: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, Iran, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The total population in Iran as per the year two thousand and fourteen is estimated to be 78,113,000,36,575.000 in Iraq, 31,521,418 in Saudi Arabia, 4039445 in Kuwait and 8,264,070 in the united Arab emirates. This makes up a total of 158,512,933 in population figures for the above countries.

Total population, Gross Domestic Product and official exchange rate, in US dollar of G7 countries

Total Population in the G7 countries, which include Canada, united states, japan , Germany, united kingdom and Italy is estimated to be one billion, two hundred and fifty five million nine hundred and eighty three thousand seven hundred(1,255,983,700).  The total gross domestic product is computed by adding the gross domestic products of all the seven countries, which gives a total of fifty four million seventy eight thousand one hundred and ninety seven (54,078,197).

Comparing and contrasting G7 countries and OPEC middle east countries.

Middle East countries that belong to the organization of petroleum exporting countries are 158,512,933 whereas the total population for the G7 countries is 1,255,983,700. This shows a higher number of people in the G7 countries as compared to those in the Middle East countries. The per capita income in G7 countries is higher than Middle East and this represents an increased standard of living in G7 countries than those in Middle East countries(George, 2001).

Conclusion

With the above findings, it is evident that the wealth levels in G7 countries are higher as compared to Middle East countries. Low per capita income, high levels of population and low gross domestic products is a clear indication of poorer standards in the Middle East countries, contrary to those regarded as G7 countries
