Now, you are going to write a book critique. This is different than a book report in that I want to know what you think about the book as opposed to the general plot and summary of the book. So what do you include?

Discuss any interesting points or ideas the book raises, and explain why you agree or disagree with the message or viewpoint of the book. Some overview will be necessary so that I understand what you are talking about. I encourage you to think critically and to offer sound insight, rather than just "I liked it" or "I hated it." Remember, I want to know your thoughts. If you include ideas or theories from other sources, you need to cite your sources.

When you critique the book, be sure to take into account the time period and culture in which the book was written. How could this have influenced the writing of the book? Also, research the author's life a little and see if there is any biographical information that may have influenced the writing of this book. Share it within the critique.

Your critique needs to be at least 600-700 words long in essay format. Focus on critiquing the book in this part. If you do not understand how a critique works or what it is, do some Internet research for this assignment.
