Choose one innovative director (THE DIRECTOR YOU WILL NEED TO WRITE THIS ON IS SPIKE LEE ) and write a 900 to 1200 word essay that has at least 4 outside references and covers the following:  What's generally important about this director?  What's specifically innovative about this director's work?  Which of his or her films are the most significant and why?  Look closer at one example that illustrates this innovative approach.  Has the director's style changed over time?  What mark has this director left on the world of film that will likely last into the future?
