The two questions below constitute Essay 1 and are worth 20 points each, a total of 40 points. Answer the questions below:

1. Define a problem that relates to your individual situation. This can be a problem that is applicable to home or work (you can make one up). Write a 300-350 word referenced essay that demonstrates how the scientific method might be used to solve the problem.
2. Explain how the mass and weight of an object are related. Is the mass of an object dependent on the weight or is the weight dependent on the mass? Explain and give an example.
