Solid and Hazardous Waste Disposal

Solid and hazardous waste production is one of the biggest environmental concerns facing society today. As the human population continues to grow and developing countries begin to readily utilize technology, the amount of both solid and hazardous waste is predicted to increase significantly in the coming years. Your readings have discussed many of the methods currently utilized to manage these types of wastes. With these concepts in mind, write a research-based paper summarizing the management of both solid and hazardous waste. In your paper:

a.       Briefly summarize municipal solid waste and hazardous waste, including how it is commonly generated in the United State and its composition.

b.      Describe at least three of the five methods mentioned in the text that are currently used to manage municipal solid waste. Include the benefits and problems associated with each method.

c.       Describe the land and non-land methods of managing hazardous waste. Include the benefits and problems associated with each method.

Your paper must be three to four pages in length and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
