For this assignment, you will write a thesis/support paper. You will pick your own topic for the paper (a few suggestions to get you started appear below). Choose an issue and determine your position on the issue. Do some research as you attempt to fine-tune and develop your position. Establish a clear thesis, and support it with a paper of about 800 words. 

Combine personal knowledge with research in your argument. 

If you are having trouble thinking of a topic or need some examples to get you started, take a look at the following list. (These are stated in the form of questions): 

• Should newspaper reporters be required to reveal their sources?
• Should sex and violence on television be restricted? 
• Should academic freedom for teachers and students be limited by law? 
• Should English be declared the official language of the United States? 
• Should public school students be required to wear uniforms?
