- You may adapt an event from your own life, write about historical or mythological events or people, or make up your own story.
- Complete in itself
- Your audience must be able to understand what is happening from the dialog alone. Remember that when a play is performed, the audience does not see the stage directions. The story is told through the words and actions of the characters.
- Though your scene may be part of a larger plot, you need to give enough information for your audience to tell what happened previously.
