This case is taken from pgs. 16-17 of Writing Arguments.

The homeless stood up for themselves by sitting down in a peaceful but vocal protest yesterday in [name of city-Chesapeake, perhaps].

About 50 people met at noon to criticize a proposed set of city ordinances that would ban panhandlers from sitting on sidewalks, put them in jail for repeatedly urinating in public, and crack down on "intimidating" street behavior.

"Sitting is not a crime," read poster boards that feature mug shots of [the city attorney] who is pushing for the new laws.  "This is city property; the police want to tell us we can't sit here," yelled one man named R.C. as he sat cross-legged outside a pizza establishment.

you will see a task that asks you to hold a meeting with all of the listed people (different classmates taking on these roles).

Each task asks you to consider the case and take on one of the roles the editors have offered.  You are required to play only one role for only one case. You may choose whichever role you would like to play, but if you join the meeting long after others have, choose a role that hasn't been taken yet, so that all voices may be represented at the meeting.

Be sure to identify your perspective in your post, and argue your points as though you are the person you have chosen (using first person pronouns).

Your response should be approximately 200 words.  Obviously you will need to take some liberties in your response, and add contrived details to support your point.  You may make up as many details as you like. Just remember, your purpose here is to represent the concerns of the person involved in the issue.
