First Paper Project Assignment: (Attached)

Choose an ethical issue you wish to examine during this course. In one paragraph, explain why you have chosen this issue. In a second paragraph, explain your thinking on this issue now before you have done any research. 

Second Paper Project Assignment: The history of your issue. In no more than two pages, double-spaced, give a brief history of your issue. Make sure you include the ancient, medieval, modern, and post-modern (today) perspectives. Mention significant people, events, or cultural and legal milestones. 

Third Paper Project Assignment: Describe the facts about your issue. Define all necessary terminology. For example, if you are doing abortion, you should give facts about gestational development and how abortions are performed at each stage of that development. You should define “abortion” (do an etymological check) and all other related terms.  

Fourth Paper Project Assignment: Argue FOR your issue using at least two of the ethical theories we have learned about in the text and in class lectures. For example, apply utilitarianism to your issue. Define utilitarianism and then apply it. 

3rd and 4th papers should be 1-1.5 pages. They all follow the same format and the idea in the first paper.
