English Essay on "Cask of Amontillado"

Your assignment is to write an analysis of the short story, "Cask of Amontillado" discussing Montresor as an unreliable narrator. An analysis is an interpretation.  Avoid merely summarizing a story.  Assume your readers have read the story, but give a 2-3 sentence synopsis in the introductory paragraph to orient the reader.  You must have a thesis at the end of the first paragraph.  The thesis is your interpretation. You will then prove your interpretation through examples and quotations.

LENGTH REQUIREMENT:  Your paper must be at least 650 words long, but please do not exceed 850.

TENSE: Use present tense when writing about literature unless the action occurred prior to the beginning of the story
