Below is a link to Google Books and Baldwin's essay "My Dungeon Shook: A Letter to my Nephew." You may have already received a copy of it before in class. If the link does not work for you, simply Google the title through Google Books. Please, read it before Tuesday (the first ten pages if you are looking at it online). As you read (I recommend reading it tbahrough at least twice), think about the rhetorical moves Baldwin makes, as he is an expert essayist. Research the context, and think about his catalyst, purpose, and audience as well as emotional appeals. Also, consider his use of repetition, alliteration, and paradox.
