English
This exercise introduces you to the requirements for this course:
- Start by reading the Syllabus and the English 202 Style Guide.
- Download the Exercise 1 file to your computer and open it in Word. (If you try to use OpenOffice, LibreOffice, or Macintosh Pages you are unlikely to get a good grade.)
- Using complete sentences, and writing from a first-person perspective, type your answers to the questions in the blank line below each question. Make sure your answers conform to all requirements of the English 202 Style Guide!
- Be concise. A single sentence response is all that is needed for most questions. For this exercise, do NOT respond using a vertical list. You'll do vertical lists soon enough.
- Do NOT do the following (2 points each occurrence):
- Change formatting. Simply type your response in the blank space below the question.
- Add manual line breaks. Let Word decide where to break each sentence.
- Select, copy, and paste text from the course site. Paraphrase or quote what the course site says. (You do not need to cite or reference the course materials for this exercise.)
- Add blank lines after your answers. The document is formatted using styles, and all the spacing needed has already been added.
- Save the document, using the naming pattern YourLastName YourFirstName Exercise 1, and be sure to leave the .docx extension on the file (5 points).
- Submit the document by the date and time shown on the syllabus calendar.
