You have been hired to provide legal advice to the Human Resource Department at Strong Company[Strong Company is a limited liability shipping company that transports  automobiles to Africa,having its main place of business in the Seattle,Washington-United States]. Strong Company is a multi-faceted organization that is located in the state of Washington. This handbook will include many administrative processes including,but not limited to, hiring and interviewing practices.This Employee Handbook consists of title page, table of contents, and resources.
General Formatting Guidelines are as follows:

b.Double spaced, 12 pt Times New Roman Font
c.All references should be cited using APA
Part One:Employee Agreement: Develop an employment agreement for Strong company, the agreement should include the following:
The nature of the employer’s business
•The nature of the work to be performed by the employee
•The terms of employment
•The obligations of the parties.
Part Two: Screening Process.   Prepare a statement that includes your recommendation for screening applicants. If you recommend that the company should not employ screening processing, be sure to include reasons why,relevant documentation backing up your recommendation,and potential implications. If you recommend that the company should employ screening processing,be sure to include reasons why,appropriate practices, and relevant documentation to back up your recommendation. Also include potential implications.
Part Three: Wrongful Discharge: Research and discuss how Strong Company can protect its business from potential claims of wrongful discharge. This should include the following:
•A discussion of the use of contracts versus employment at will
•What policies and procedures you would utilize in discharging employees
•Procedures you would utilize to ensure that a discharged employee receives procedural fairness
Part Four: Workplace Safety: Workplace Safety activity, prepare a statement about workplace safety that you would urge Strong Company to include in their employee handbook.
Part Five: Employee Privacy and Rights: Prepare a statement about employee privacy, privacy rights, and potential implications of failure to comply. Include your recommendation for employee monitoring and surveillance. Be sure to reinforce your recommendation by citing resources to back up your recommendation.
Part 6: Disparate Impact: Define and address Disparate Impact. In your recommendation consider how disparate impact can be minimized.
 Part 7: Anti-Discrimination Policy: Prepare Strong Company anti-discrimination policy. Include information that an employee should consider in waiving his or her rights under ADEA[Age Discrimination in Employment Act].
Part 8: Disability Definition: Prepare a definition of a disability for Strong Company. Include examples of disabilities and examples of those things that would not be considered disabilities.
Part 9: Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy: Prepare a Strong Company anti-sexual harassment policy. Indicate whether or not a man may be the victim of sexual harassment, or whether or not a woman can sexually harass a man. Be sure to include the following:
•A definition of quid pro quo harassment
•A definition of a hostile work environment
•A defined procedure for employees to voice their complaints
•A defined penalty for employees who violate this policy
•Whether or not it is necessary for a person to suffer economic injury in order to be the victim of sexual harassment
•An anti-retaliation statement
Part 10: Compliance, Worker’s Compensation, and FMLA: Summarize Strong Company’s Compliance with (ERISA,COBRA, HIPAA,FMLA and Worker’s Compensation). Use the IRAC [Issues, Rule(s), Application/Analysis] method for each of these rulings-ERISA, COBRA and HIPAA-for inclusion in your employee handbook. Determine under what circumstances would an employee or employer be impacted by each of these rulings, and if applicable, what are the penalties for violating these rulings?
Part: 11: Worker’s Compensation Definition: (a).Provide a definition of worker's compensation and include a state (Washington state depart of labor where Strong Co. is located), agency website that Strong Company can refer to for additional information about worker's compensation.
(b). FMLA Policy: Prepare a Strong Company FMLA Policy. Indicate the following within the policy:
•Is Strong Company a covered employer?
•Which employees are qualified?
•What is the company’s policy regarding paying for leave under the FMLA? Will Strong Company keep the job open indefinitely, even after the FMLA period? Under what circumstances? Incorporate many scholarly resources effectively that reflect depth and breadth of research.
