From an overall financial standpoint, businesses can spend a large portion of their gross revenue in employee compensation. The figures vary drastically by industry but some companies have compensation costs that are higher than 50% of gross revenue. A strong total rewards program needs to balance expenses, revenue growth, and employee engagement and motivation. What would you consider when developing a total rewards program? Provide examples and draw from your own experiences.
