For this assignment, develop a booklet or multi-page handout to prepare and inform classroom teachers about the steps involved in determining the intellectual and academic functioning levels of students with emotional or behavioral disorders and providing services based on these determinations. Identify a target audience of elementary, middle school, or high school teachers as the intended recipients of the booklet or handout. 

Include the following items in your handout:

• Identify student subject areas in which functioning will be assessed (including language).
• Address intellectual and academic assessment procedures and related legal issues.
• Provide a list of possible strategies and interventions to utilize when determining intellectual and academic levels.
• Include required teacher preparation and in-service requirements.
• Summary/recommendations.
