Given that the KEEPS mission is the driving force of the School of Education’s work in the preparation of teacher candidates working in the urban context this assignment is designed with the goal of student’s synthesizing the knowledge base of our course (TAL 801) to analyze critical incidents in your own educational trajectory.  As future urban educators our goal is for you to be able to examine critically the impact of race, class and gender on teaching and learning of children and youth in the urban context.     Specifically, by providing a critical analysis of your educational trajectory through the lens of the impact of race, class, and gender on your education the aim is to deepen your understanding of the concepts of Knowledge, Empathy, Enquiry, Pluralism, and Social Commitment.
