Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday) and you have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your classmates. Your grade will reflect both the quality of your initial post and the depth of your responses.

View the video, Shaping the Way We Teach English: Module 07, Learning Strategies.  Identify three teaching techniques illustrated in the video.  Using information from Chapter 6 of your text, the video, and your own experiences (as applicable), evaluate the role of previously known languages in the use of these techniques.  Are these techniques effective?  How do you know?

Guided Response: Analyze the effectiveness of the techniques that are addressed in at least two of your peers’ posts.  Respond to their evaluations with suggestions of your own.  Also, be sure to respond to any questions from classmates and the instructor.
