Operations strategy consists of goals, plans, and a direction for the operations function that are linked to the business strategy and other functional strategies, leading to a competitive advantage for the firm. Figure 2.1 on page 21 outlines the various elements of organizational strategy which are functions of its operations. You have the opportunity in activity two to formulate organizational operations strategies, functions and product design.
