As Shakespeare said “All the world’s a stage and all the actors players therof.” For some sociologists this quote is applicable to everyday life.
As such, Erving Goffman coined the term “dramaturgy” for use in describing social interaction. Define dramaturgy. In what ways is social life like a play on a stage? I want you to think about your last date, your last night on the town, or your last religious service in terms of a stage play. Offer a dramaturgical analysis of this event.
