The importance of Solving  variables in equations has many reasons. There are many uses for solving equations in real life also. It can provide a lot of answers for mathematicians and accountants. Its also important because you need to know what it is that you are solving for.  

lets say you work 30 hours, and get paid $8.50 an hour, and you want to know how much your paycheck will be. So h, becomes your variable. you define it, and it lets you know how to properly write the equation. $8.50×30= h h/30 = 7.50
