Based on what I have learned in this class I feel that I have much more knowledge about Network than I had before. As far as setting up a LAN I think I could setup a very simple one, yet I believe that setting up a big one would require much more than just theory. From what I have learned in this course, I think that I would be comfortable setting up alocal area network for a very small business. I learned that there is a lot of things andequipment that you have to consider when setting up a large network. I grasped somebasic concepts and terminologies about networks from this class. I believe this class has provided me with some fantastic tools. I understand networks and how they operate on a completely new level. I understand how larger networks and networks stretched around the world operate. The question being asked is if I feel comfortable setting up a local area network. I have done so for small businesses (five workstations, no servers, and one printer).

Setting up a small home network would probably be easy for me at this point. Also, understanding the network and all the details would be a lot more easier for me at this point. Even now when I talk to our tech support at my job, I am able to follow and keep up with the conversation because I have been exposed to the concepts. Before,  I would listen to get a deeper understanding of the process but would get lost in the terminology and ultimately get lost in the conversation. Now if I do happen to get lost, I can easily catch up or have a better starting point to refer back to that helps me understand.

So if you think you can set up a small LAN then that is great!  At what point do  you think a LAN would become to big for you to set up?  Wouldn't setting up a larger LAN be similar?  Could you do it with some help?

I agree the first thing that the user would have problems with is reading the text because the color makes it hard to read. It did not fit in with the background and it really hurt my eyes. As you said the pictures load up slow and I notice that they do not give enough information about their products. They give more information about their stylists than the products they sale. The site seems to be trying to get the user interested in buying what their friends sites offer. If I go to a particular website looking for something I do not want the web designer try and get me to buy something from another website that has nothing to do with what I am looking for. I do not think sailboats, yatch, and beach houses has anything to do with getting your hair styled. In my opinion, that link should not be on the page.

The website that I chose was for Alfred Sung. The navigation on this site was not that great to me because the user would have to find it. If was confusing and it would be hard for most user to understand. When I got on the homepage I could not find the navigation, I had to move the mouse around on the page in order to get the navigation to appear. The site really does not explain what the user is looking for and the only images on the page are models. This site is suppose to have a clothing line, eye wear, fragrances, and watches. When I clicked on each item the only thing appeared was either a model, a watch, bottle of fragrance, or a pair of glasses. It does not have enough words about the products or what different products they sale. If someone is going on that site to find a replacement pair of glasses because something happen to theirs, they would have a hard time reading the text. It is a boring site and users will not stay on it long because they would not understand how to navigate it.

Melanie, you are right compared to some of the other sites, my choice is pretty good but it does go to show that you need to take the website as a whole. The excitement the home page builds fades pretty quickly as you go to other pages. It is a very user friendly site so the visitor can find what they are looking for. But comparing the site with the store, I feel the website gives you the feeling that it is a big store when actually the showroom is about the same size as an oversize 2 car garage. They sell a lot of bikes and it is the place to go for service in my area but the service/warehouse area is at least 4 or 5 times bigger than the showroom. But overall the website does do a good job of preparing you for when you walk in the door because it is wall to wall bikes.
