Programs are written in "high level" language like C++, Python or Java, they are translated with a special software into low level instructions so that a computer will actually run. It's much easier to use "high level" programing languages because it's easier to express complex and abstract ideas of commands more accurately. Programming languages exist in families and styles a lot like human languages. I especially like the part in the read about the creator of netscap and how he said in the future there will be 2 types of jobs those that tell computers what to do and those that do what computers tell them to do.
