Change Management and Resistance:

A major barrier to organizational change is employee resistance. In your studies for this unit, you have examined many strategies for overcoming resistance and facilitating change. Review the strategies presented in your readings and describe which would be most appropriate for your organization. Explain why. Are there any additional methods not mentioned in the readings that would assist your organization's change management strategy?

Organizational Development Strategies

In addition to individual change management strategies, organizational development strategies can assist with overcoming employee resistance and facilitate change in an organization. The readings for this unit address organizational design strategies for facilitating change. For this discussion, address the following questions:

• Why do human beings resist change?
• What are some ways that people resist change in organizations?
• Are there benefits to organizational resistance?
• How can organizational development help employees adapt to change?
