Reading:  Rereading America, introduction to chapter 3; Cade-Bambara’s short story “The Lesson” from chapter 3 of the same textbook.

Discussion Board (1):  In your own words and in one long paragraph, compare a dictionary definition of success to your own definition of what it means to be successful. 

Discussion Board (2):  In a long paragraph, discuss how two of the characters in Bambara’s story might define success.  End by putting in your own words what you believe is the point of Bambara’s story.
