michelle_4321One critique of the search for extraterrestrial intelligence is that if this exists, shouldn’t we have already heard from them by now?
Moreover, if the Drake equation is correct, we should be flooded with signals to attempt contact. This is all assuming that the intelligence wants to contact us.
In other words, if we advanced to a Type II or Type III civilization, how would our motivations change towards finding intelligent life elsewhere in the universe?
