discussion post - human resource management
Onboarding is the process of helping new employees adapt to their new job or organizational culture. Onboarding assists new hires with acclimating smoothly, so that they become an engaged part of the organization.
Discuss the following:
- Do you feel that organizations should allocate a lot of time and resources to ensuring that they have an effective onboarding process? Why or why isn't this important?
- Describe your experience at an organization that didn't have a good onboarding process. What was it like being a new employee at that organization? Did you feel connected? (If you have not worked for an organization that did not have an onboarding process, then research an organization that doesn't have one, describe the organization, and discuss how you think their new employees may feel.)
