Leadership styles have significant effects not only on small businesses but also in the world's largest corporations. These styles affect everyone from senior management to the newest college intern. They create the corporate culture that influences the organization and its performance.

 Assignment: Part 1

Describe your work environment. What type of leadership style is displayed?  Describe why the leadership style works or does not work for this environment. Which leadership style do you think would work better and explain why?

Low morale can lead to poor cooperation, low productivity and increased turnover -- and ultimately hinder a business from reaching its goals.Since employee morale can quickly build or break a company's success, effective leaders often keep a close eye on it and enlist simple and creative approaches to strengthen it.

 Assignment: Part 2

Explain how the employee's morale is kept up or if not, why? What effect does this have on the work environment? What are some of the rewards or recognition is there in place for motivating the employees? If there is none, what would you suggest? What are your recommendations for motivation, reward, and recognition?

Despite every effort, even the best-run businesses may encounter disciplinary problems with employees from time to time. Although it is always best to focus on effective management practice and preventative measures, having clear and fair disciplinary procedures is a good first step in avoiding difficult employment tribunals.
