A presentation is an important form of communication used in businesses and schools to exchange information. (Lehman, C., DuFrene, D., & Walker, R. 2016).Presenting a presentation in front of an audience whether they are clients or coworkers can be very nerve-racking so for a presentation to be effective they are three stages you can take when preparing and presenting the presentation.

Before the presentation you would want to prepare and practice.  Prepare your presentation by developing an outline that supports your presentation and also gathering your tools (visuals, handouts) that will be used in the presentation. (Lehman et al., 2016) Practicing your presentation will increase effectiveness of the presentation by helping you identify flaws in organization, ineffective expressions, and verbal pothole. (Lehman et al., 2016)

During your presentation communicate and appearance are few actions that can increase your effectiveness as a speaker. In today’s highly competitive world communicate effectively is extremely crucial for success in most positions in a working environment. (Zivkovic, S. 2014). As a presenter you would want to exhibit confident of appearance by standing tall, smiling and eye contact. (Lehman et al., 2016)

Even after the presentation they can be actions taking to increase the effectiveness of the speaker. At this point the speaker needs to be prepared for answering questions and this is also the time to distribute any handouts. (Lehman et al., 2016)

Many will be or have been faced in their professional field to present a presentation. Presentations can be a success or a failure but by following these three stages the speaker will be able to present an effective presentation.
